Administration

The University of Barotseland is governed by a Board of Directors, which is the supreme policy making body of the institution. The board is headed by the chairperson. The Board of Directors is superintended by the shareholders as constituted in the General Assembly. The Chairperson of the board is the Chairperson of the General Assembly. The chief executive of the university is the Vice Chancellor appointed by the Board of Directors. He/she is assisted by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, who is also appointed by the Board. Each school is headed by a Dean, who oversees the day-to-day performance of the lecturers. There are in addition three units of Distance Education; and Research and Consultancy; Culture and Museums. Distance Education, and Culture and Museums is headed by a Manager while Research and Consultancy is headed by a Coordinator. The administrative staff fall under the Registrar’s office and support the academic staff.
